Alocasia
The Shiny Up-Pointing Leaf.
Calidora $10.00
Developed by LariAnn Garner, of Aroidia Research. Who I was fortunate to meet last year on my trip to Florida. I was very happy she took time out of her schedule to talk with me and show me many of her plants and projects. Please check out her website.
Zone 7b-10
Odora 'Azurea' $20.00
Often sold as "Alocasia Gigantea" or Blue Odora. This EE has dark purplish/blue stems. Grows faster with more sun but with more sun, you lose the darker color in the stems.
I've heard these are more cold hardy than zone 9 but I've never tried to overwinter mine outside.
Zone 9-10
'Hilo Beauty' $20.00 Sold Out
Possibly a Colocasia rather than an Alocasia, still up for debate...
Zone 8-10
A very rare and strange Alocasia when compared to other Alocasias. Leaves emerge green with silver veins and turn to a more bluish/green metallic look as shown in this picture.
Zone 9-10
Lauterbaachiana $20.00
New to the market. Limited amount available
Zone 9-10
Macrorrhiza $10.00
This is a breed of EE that doesn't get as much credit as it deserves. Many crosses started with a Alocasia Macrorrhiza.
Zone 8-10

Amazonica 'Polly' $15.00
As amazing as this plant is, please understand that 'Polly' is a bit harder to keep growing then your average Alocasia. They tend to march to their own beat and go dormant when they decide its time.
Zone 9-10

Portei $20.00
Limited amount available
Zone 9-10
Brian Williams Hybrid $10.00
Cross developed by Brian Williams from Alocasia Macrorrhiza and Alocasia Amazonica.
This is one if my favorite Alocasias. Has very nice textured green leaves with a maroon under leaf. Strong grower and after a year you will see several offset baby plants.
Zone 7b-10
Hypnosa 'Maechang' $10.00
Hypnosa is new to the market and a great Alocasia to try for someone who has never grown an Alocasia before. They are very easy to grow and allow for some neglect. I left mine in the ground last year and I noticed in late May of this year that it has made it through the winter and came back to life.
