Brian Williams Hybrid                                                      Zone 7b-10

This is a very interesting cross Brian Williams of Brian's Botanicals did between a Alocasia Macrorrhiza and Alocasia Amazonica back in 2004.  As you can see from the pictures the top side of the leaves are dark green in nature and show creamy white colored veins.  The underside of the leave is maroon in color, very nice contrast from the top side.

The leaves are said to get around two or three feet long and just over a foot wide.  Mature plants grow up to around seven feet high, maybe more.  A very hardy elephant ear in terms of Alocasia's.  Rated at zone 8 but all of mine came back that were planted in the ground.  So I'm willing to say it is zone 7b hardy with protection.

This aroid has a Green Hooded Flower.  I've tried to cross one of my B. Williams hybrid with pollen from A. Calidora and C. Black Stem.  But my timing was off.  Very long flowering stage once it gets started.

You can see from this picture the Maroon underleaf.  The dark part is the shadow of the other leaf.
